Patience isn't only about time...
It is also a lot about trust.
It's knowing that God always comes through...
That He will always be there for us.
There is such a great strength in patience...
And this strength is simply believing.
It is about resting in God's perfect love
And always prepared for receiving.
In this fast paced world which we live in...
Fast cars, fast planes, and fast food.
There is very little patience that is still required...
And requiring it seems almost rude.
Yet being patient is known as a virtue
And when we do wait on our Lord...
So great should be our expectation!
For even greater shall be our reward!
Yes, to wait without ever complaining
Exhibits patience at its very best.
To endure discomfort and at times even pain
Shows we are spiritually fit for the test.
The best ever story of patience
Is the Biblical story of Job.
I would venture to say that he was, indeed,
The most miserable man on the globe.
Yet Job was the picture of patience...
He was hurting but believed in his Lord.
And gained so much more than he'd ever lost.
This is always real patience's reward.
Patience is part of the fruit of the Spirit
And if we are known by our fruits...
Then I would endeavor to boldly proclaim
That it be one of persistent pursuits.
Our prayer should be "Father, endow us
With the patience only You can impart
Help us not to grow weary in waiting...
But grant us a pure patient heart."
